Three Canadians Charged With Illegal Voting
Federal authorities charged three Canadian citizens in separate cases with illegally voting in U.S. elections. In Wisconsin, Monique Gignac-Yochum, 60, is accused of voting in the 2022 and 2024 elections; Rodger Dedrick, 66, is accused of voting in 2024 and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship when registering. If convicted, Gignac-Yochum faces up to one year in prison, while Dedrick faces up to five years for the registration charge and one year for illegal voting; both were released pending further proceedings. In Tennessee, Gregory Allan Porter is accused of living for decades under a deceased American’s identity, fraudulently obtaining government documents and voting in elections from 2006 onward; he faces multiple federal charges, including aggravated identity theft and voting as a noncitizen, and is scheduled for trial in January 2027. All allegations remain unproven in court.
