Watch parties spotlight tight South Carolina Senate race

Election-night coverage showed voters and supporters gathering at watch parties across Tennessee, Kentucky and New Jersey, including events for Tennessee Republican gubernatorial candidate Marsha Blackburn, Knoxville Democrats, Louisville mayoral candidate Shameka Parrish-Wright, Kentucky Rep. Andy Barr and New Jersey candidate Rebecca Bennett. In South Carolina, attention centered on a closely contested U.S. Senate special election between appointed Republican Sen. Darline Graham and Democrat Annie Andrews, following Lindsey Graham’s death; the race could determine the state’s first woman elected to a full Senate term. Separately, Winter Springs residents described flooding as a recurring problem.
