House, State Election Results Develop Across Districts
Preliminary results showed Democratic Rep. Lou Correa leading Republican David Pan in California’s 46th Congressional District; Correa is seeking a sixth term after winning 52% in the June primary, compared with nearly 33% for Pan. In New York’s State Senate District 1, incumbent Tony Palumbo highlighted his legislative record, while challenger Chris Murray emphasized affordability, clean water and civil rights; the provided report did not include results. Other races being tracked include incumbent Assemblymember Rebecca Seawright against Republican Lou Puliafito in New York’s 76th District, Rep. Andrew Garbarino against challenger James Halpin in New York’s 2nd Congressional District, and Pennsylvania Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon against Nick Manganaro in the 5th District. In Pennsylvania’s 146th House District, incumbent Joe Ciresi is seeking reelection after flipping the seat from Republican control in 2020. Results in New York’s 16th Congressional District were delayed after voting-machine failures in Westchester County, with a bipartisan plan proposed to begin counting tens of thousands of set-aside ballots under representatives’ observation.
