Pritzker Unveils Federal Agenda After Reelection
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker won a third term with 59% of the vote and unveiled his 200-point federal agenda the next day, urging newly empowered congressional Democrats to reverse Trump-era cuts and address affordability. The proposals include restoring Medicaid and food assistance, expanding health care, immigration reform, abortion-rights protections, higher wages and limits on artificial intelligence. Pritzker presented the agenda as a guide for lawmakers beyond Illinois and said it responded to voters’ demands. His national profile and possible 2028 presidential run remain in focus; he declined to say whether he would run and emphasized his commitment to Illinois. Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, elected to the U.S. Senate, voiced support for Pritzker if he seeks the presidency.
