Portland Man Convicted of Fairview Murder

A Multnomah County jury convicted 32-year-old Deming Oakleaf of second-degree murder in the February 2025 shooting death of Roman Shulishov, a father killed near his Fairview home. Prosecutors said Shulishov had walked over to speak with Oakleaf, who was in a gray sedan, when Oakleaf fired multiple shots. Investigators used neighborhood video and evidence tracing the sedan—which had no license plates—to identify Oakleaf and build the case. Oakleaf is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 29.
