Portland Police Investigate Possible Link in Two Encampment Remains Cases

Portland police are investigating two discoveries of human remains at homeless encampment cleanup sites within a week, near downtown’s Burnside Street and I-405 and near Harvey Milk Street and Naito Parkway. Detectives believe the discoveries may be connected and currently think they could involve one person, though that has not been confirmed; a medical examiner’s examination is pending. Police have not released the person’s identity or the cause or manner of death, and the circumstances remain under investigation. The discoveries have shocked some community members.
