Power outages affect thousands across four areas
Power outages affected customers in several regions on Monday and Tuesday. In Richmond, nearly 700 homes and businesses near South Belvidere Street lost power, with Dominion Energy investigating and estimating restoration overnight; a separate vehicle crash also disrupted power to a pump station, but a connection between the incidents was not established. Overnight storms left more than 1,700 customers without power in Jefferson County, Kansas, while downed lines created an electrical hazard in North Lawrence; restoration times were not immediately available. In Vienna, a technical fault briefly interrupted service for 200 to 300 households across three districts, with power restored in under an hour. An unplanned outage also affected more than 200 postcodes in Calderdale, England, where the utility estimated restoration by early afternoon.
