Prince Harry Says he Wants to Work out Relationship with Brother and Father
Prince Harry said in a GQ interview recorded in New York in late September and published 20 October 2026 that he wants his complicated relationships with King Charles III and Prince William to work out. "Some people don't want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that's going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile - that's the key point," he said. He added that scars stick around forever but encouraged letting go of the past. Harry, Meghan and their children returned to the UK in late August, six years after leaving royal roles for California. He cited British schooling for Archie and Lilibet, closer proximity to family, and longer stays on UK soil. He said of the King, who is being treated for an undisclosed cancer, "He's getting better." A spokesperson clarified the "some people" line was not a swipe at William or the family. The interview appeared while the Royal Family hosted the Sultan of Oman in Windsor; Harry and Meghan's first joint public engagement since the return was in Nottingham last week. He had voiced a similar reconciliation wish in a May 2025 BBC interview.
