Profound Medical, Cook Medical Sign U.S. Distribution Deal

Profound Medical has signed a U.S. supply and distribution agreement with Cook Medical’s interventional MRI division to expand sales of its TULSA-PRO system, which uses MRI-guided ultrasound to ablate prostate tissue. Cook will buy the systems at a predetermined transfer price and offer them through its Copernicus program, which combines the iMRI Suite with compatible devices and clinical support. Profound will continue selling directly to sites with compatible MRI systems, and customers who buy through Cook will purchase disposables and service contracts from Profound. The deal adds a sales channel alongside Profound’s existing partnership with Siemens Healthineers to pair TULSA-PRO with the MAGNETOM Free.Max scanner; Profound is seeking FDA 510(k) clearance for that combination.
