Prosecutors Authorize Assault Charges Against Michigan Student
Washtenaw County prosecutors authorized three charges against University of Michigan student Temulun Togochog after video appeared to show her confronting conservative commentators at a campus free-speech event and shoving Jewish commentator Liz Benichou to the ground. The charges include one count of assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer and two counts of assault or assault and battery; prosecutors said a court date will be set after Togochog is arraigned. The event featured discussion of Islam, Iran and Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, and the allegations have not been tested in court.
