Public Safety Town Halls Planned Across Communities
Communities in Evansville, Indiana; Tipperary, Ireland; Parksville, British Columbia; and Lincoln, Nebraska, are planning public meetings to hear residents’ safety concerns and improve communication with local authorities. Evansville’s “Safer Evansville” series begins with an Oct. 14 town hall featuring city and law-enforcement officials discussing crime trends, gun violence and juvenile crime, with another meeting planned for Oct. 29. In Tipperary, a public workshop will gather input for a three-year Community Safety Plan. Parksville plans a town hall in the first half of 2027 on concerns including property crime, scams, traffic safety and business security, with input potentially informing the city’s Official Community Plan. Lincoln police are holding a town hall to explain department work and future concerns and give residents a chance to ask questions and raise issues.
