Public sketching events span cities, museums
Across several communities, museums, galleries and local groups are offering accessible ways to draw and make art. In Sacramento, Urban Sketchers brings artists together to capture city landmarks, businesses and everyday scenes, while also helping participants discover local venues. The Museum of Royal Worcester is launching beginner-friendly sketching tasters and a longer course inspired by its porcelain collection; a Wiltshire event invites all abilities to sketch autumn nature in a relaxed setting. Charleston’s Simpatico Gallery is hosting recurring guided watercolor painting nights, and the Brooklyn Museum’s free drop-in Saturday Sketch Club will draw on works in its collection, including artifacts from Peru and Mexico.
