Purdue, Elanco Break Ground on Indianapolis Research Institute
Purdue University and Elanco Animal Health broke ground in Indianapolis on a planned 150,000-square-foot One Health Research Institute, part of the city’s One Health Innovation District. The shared-use facility will include research laboratories, equipment, incubator and collaboration space, and facilities for animal-health and veterinary partners, bringing together work on human, animal, plant and environmental health. Purdue will provide academic and research capabilities, while Elanco will help connect discoveries to development and commercialization. The partners say the institute is intended to speed practical innovations—including diagnostics, vaccines and digital health tools—for farmers and other users, while also supporting collaboration and student opportunities. The facility is expected to open by 2030.
