Quit-Tobacco Programs Expand Support Across Regions
Michigan and Hawaiʻi have launched QuitLogix mobile apps to make their free tobacco-cessation programs easier for adults to access. Michigan’s app connects users with the state’s Quitlink services, including coaching through the app, website or phone, English- and Spanish-language support, and the option to order nicotine-replacement products. Hawaiʻi’s app offers the same services as its online quitline program, with biometric login and smartphone notifications; the program also provides free nicotine patches, gum and lozenges and support for quitting smoking, vaping or other tobacco use. Both departments say the apps expand access to evidence-based help for people trying to quit.
