Rahm Finishes Last at BMW PGA Championship

Jon Rahm shot 78 and 77 at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth to finish 11 over par, last among 140 players, and missed the cut. The total was the worst 36-hole score of his professional career. Across the two rounds he made 10 bogeys, two double bogeys and three birdies. He finished 21 shots behind clubhouse leaders Adam Scott, who shot 67, and Filippo Celli. In round one Rahm dropped his club on the 13th hole. In round two he hit his opening drive at No. 9 into a bunker and later hit a tee shot out of bounds. He reacted with wry smiles rather than anger as the round unraveled. The opening 78 matched his highest score in a non-major since a 78 at the 2021 Andalucia Masters. He has shot 78 three times in 2026, at the Masters, U.S. Open and BMW PGA. His worst-ever round remains an 82 at the 2017 Players Championship. His previous worst pro finish was 122nd at the 2018 U.S. Open. He had previously finished runner-up twice and fourth at the BMW PGA Championship. Rahm's wife Kelley is expecting their fourth child. His T2 at the 2026 PGA Championship was his best finish since joining LIV Golf. No contested claims on the scores or finish appear in the record.
