Raiders Run Game Struggles, Jeanty Averages 3.1 Yards
The Raiders’ rushing attack remains one of the NFL’s weakest, and Ashton Jeanty has managed 328 yards on 106 carries—3.1 yards per carry and one rushing touchdown—after being selected sixth overall in 2025. Jeanty recently said the team could get its run game back on track against the Jets, while taking a jab at unnamed players who “don’t really want to tackle”; New York has struggled against the run, but Las Vegas has averaged just 74.7 rushing yards per game. Reports point to poor offensive-line blocking as a major factor: Jeanty is getting less than a yard before contact per carry, and he and the linemen have been meeting to improve communication. The problems extend beyond Jeanty’s tenure, with Las Vegas’ rushing production ranking near the bottom of the league over multiple seasons. Fourth-round rookie Mike Washington Jr. is averaging 4.9 yards per carry, but his 40-carry sample is much smaller, and a 36-yard touchdown accounts for a substantial share of his output.
