Ramon Scott recommends backing Ohio to cover against Akron, citing the Bobcats’ unbeaten conference record, rushing advantage and strong defense against a struggling Zips team. He also picks South Carolina to cover against Stetson, pointing to the Gamecocks’ talent, a past lopsided win and Stetson’s quick turnaround after playing at Clemson. For North Florida’s visit to Cal Baptist, Scott favors the Lancers to cover, relying on their 19-game home winning streak and two-way strength. He backs Minnesota to cover at home against Milwaukee, emphasizing the Timberwolves’ strong against-the-spread record and the Bucks’ defensive problems. In Florida’s neutral-site opener against Miami, Scott favors the Gators to cover, citing their formidable frontcourt and depth against a Miami roster still adjusting to changes.
