Randi Mahomes has raised money for Variety KC, helping provide adaptive equipment, communication boards and inclusive play opportunities, including a custom sports wheelchair for a child who wanted to play wheelchair basketball. The Cherokee County School District’s Child Find program identifies and evaluates children ages 3 to 21 who may qualify for special education services. For aging parents supporting dependent adult children, a gerontologist advises making legal, financial and residential plans early and protecting eligibility for public assistance.
