Rangers Place Reimer on Waivers After One Start
The New York Rangers placed goalie James Reimer on waivers after his only start for the team ended with three goals allowed on eight shots in one period against the Los Angeles Kings. The move comes as Joonas Korpisalo nears a return from injury, following a rehab start with AHL Hartford; Reimer was still expected to back up Dylan Garand against Philadelphia, and could be assigned to Hartford if he clears waivers. Garand has started 11 straight games since injuries sidelined Korpisalo and Igor Shesterkin, with his results slipping after a strong opening stretch.
