Rays Fans Celebrate ALCS Game 5 Win

Tampa Bay Rays fans gathered at Tropicana Field to watch the team play on the road in the American League Championship Series, with families enjoying activities including playing catch on the field, face painting, giveaways and photos with the mascots. The event offered fans a way to share the postseason atmosphere at home, but footage of the gathering also prompted online jokes about the size of the crowd, amid wider scrutiny of the Rays’ low attendance. Fans were expected to return for a subsequent game, with rally towels provided and the stadium opening before first pitch.
