Reading Man Identified in Homicide Investigation

Authorities identified human remains found Oct. 2 in a vacant Reading, Pennsylvania, home as Jose Rodriguez-Figueroa Jr., 47, and are investigating his death as a homicide. A forensic investigation involving an autopsy, dental and entomological analysis, and forensic anthropologists—along with information from families seeking missing loved ones—helped establish his identity. Investigators believe the remains may have been there for many months, but have not disclosed how he died, where he was killed, or whether they have identified any suspects; the investigation is ongoing.
