Redding police arrested Justin Knight, 39, on suspicion of murder in the fatal shooting of a woman at a home on Washington Avenue. Officers responding early Oct. 23 found the woman dead from a gunshot wound and Knight unresponsive, apparently experiencing a possible overdose; he was taken to a hospital and remained in police custody. After being medically cleared and interviewed on Oct. 26, Knight was booked into the Shasta County Jail on a murder charge and a firearm enhancement. Police have not publicly identified the woman.
