Ree Drummond’s Foster Son Arrested on Assault, Drug Charges

Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old foster son of Food Network personality Ree Drummond, was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 15 and faces charges including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession, attempting to elude police and aggravated assault on an officer. According to court documents, officers responding to a report of a suspicious person found Goff asleep near a fountain at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he allegedly said he was waiting to buy “ice,” a term for methamphetamine. After learning that Goff had an outstanding warrant, an officer allegedly attempted to detain him; prosecutors say Goff fled to a nearby hospital and struck an officer with an open-handed blow. Authorities said they found a glass pipe and 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, and records indicate his bond was set at $37,000. The documents describe Goff as homeless, while Drummond and her husband, Ladd, took him into their household as a teenager and have publicly discussed their relationship with him; representatives for Drummond had not publicly commented on the allegations.
