Reggie Jackson links Pennsylvania antisemitism to 1960s racism
Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson condemned rising antisemitism in Pennsylvania and urged Philadelphia-area elected officials and community leaders to denounce it clearly. He cited Anti-Defamation League figures showing 465 incidents statewide in 2024, including 189 in Philadelphia and 51 in Montgomery County, near his hometown of Wyncote. Jackson compared the hatred to the racism and segregation he endured in the 1960s, saying that hate should not be accepted against any group. He also warned that excusing hateful language can deepen fear and division, and noted research linking exposure to hate with worse psychological well-being and reduced trust between groups.
