Regional Workforce Events Engage Students, 150-Plus Workers
Across the country, employers and workforce groups are focusing on how to attract, prepare and retain workers. A new Lehigh Valley summit highlighted the need to sustain regional growth, retain younger workers and adapt training to changing demand for skills such as mechatronics, engineering and AI; participants also encouraged job seekers to build active professional networks. In Tallahassee, the WOW Jobs event connected high school students with local employers through hands-on activities, career exploration and potential interviews, while a University of Arizona job fair showcased students’ mixed concerns about AI and optimism about future opportunities. Separately, Newsweek’s 2027 workplace study will use anonymous employee feedback and broader research to evaluate employers, with the goal of helping workers assess potential workplaces.
