Renault plans over €10 billion France investment for EV expansion

Renault plans to invest more than €10 billion in France over the next five years to expand electric-vehicle production and develop more affordable cars, provided social and political conditions remain supportive. CEO François Provost said the company invested €13 billion in France over the previous five years to modernize its industrial operations and shift toward electric vehicles. Renault produced about 500,000 vehicles in France in 2025 and expects domestic production to rise by at least 25% in 2026, driven largely by electric models. Electric vehicles made up a record 42% of new car registrations in France in September, amid increased demand and higher fuel prices.
