Rents reported higher across five US markets
Rents rose year over year in the markets covered, though the pace varied. In South Florida, asking rents increased 2% in Miami-Dade to $2,669 in September 2026, with larger gains in Coral Gables, Miami Beach and downtown Miami; West Palm Beach-Boca Raton rose 2.6%, and Fort Lauderdale 1.5%. The South Florida report also found apartment-building insurance costs had fallen sharply, but those savings had not translated into lower rents. Zumper data showed median apartment listing prices up 8% year over year in Amarillo to $1,279 and Brockton to $2,360, while Burlington’s rose 3% to $2,165. Panama City Beach recorded the largest reported increase among these local listing markets, with prices up 17% year over year to $2,400.
