Restaurants Open in Newton, Glasgow, Florence
Several food businesses are drawing attention for distinctive menus and strong local ties. Lockheart has opened a second location in Newton’s historic Piccadilly Square, serving Tex-Mex-inspired dishes with American twists, including birria tacos and street corn. In Glasgow’s East End, Keek’s sandwich-and-coffee shop has built a following by bringing a West End-style food offering to an area its owner says has few comparable options. Indianapolis’s Checkered Flag Tavern, a racing-themed neighborhood bar dating to 1947, is known for smoked wings, brisket, steaks and live music. Florence’s Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 has reopened at Sina Villa Medici with original furnishings and classic offerings such as beef carpaccio, baked taglierini and Bellinis.
