Rick Ross felony battery charge dropped, misdemeanors remain
Prosecutors dropped the felony strangulation charge against rapper Rick Ross, saying there was insufficient evidence, but are pursuing misdemeanor battery-related charges stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident. His former girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, told police that Ross struck and choked her, pulled her by the ponytail and slammed her against a wall at his Miami Beach home on Aug. 28; investigators said they collected injury photos and surveillance footage. Ross has denied the allegations, calling them fabricated, and pleaded not guilty. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the misdemeanor charges.
