Road closures planned, active across four communities

Peace Road between Route 64 and Freed Road will close for about a week starting Oct. 13 as crews pave the widened roadway and finish bridge work ahead of Sycamore’s Pumpkin Festival; a detour will use Motel and Freed roads, with traffic delays expected. In East Grand Forks, a frontage road near Highway 220 North is closed for an estimated two to three weeks for storm-sewer repairs. Wards Corner Road in Miami Township was closed between addresses 420 and 422 while crews repaired an isolated gas leak, with reopening estimated for 9 p.m. Tuesday. In Powell, all lanes of West Emory Road near Heiskell Road were closed while firefighters responded to an abandoned-structure fire, and drivers were warned not to cross the charged fire hoses.
