Phoenix man shot in robbery drives himself toward hospital

Phoenix police stopped an erratically driven vehicle near Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday and found the driver had been shot. He told officers he was wounded during a robbery near Indian School Road and was driving himself to the hospital. Paramedics transported him with life-threatening injuries, and detectives are investigating; police have not announced any arrests.
