Roche Signs Potential $15B Hansoh Cancer Drug Deal

Roche and China’s Hansoh Pharmaceutical have struck a broad antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) collaboration targeting multiple cancers, with two preclinical Hansoh programs and additional programs using Hansoh’s technology against targets proposed by Roche. Hansoh will receive $400 million upfront and $110 million after one year, with eligibility for more than $15 billion in milestone payments and tiered royalties if products reach the market. Hansoh will lead early development through initial clinical trials; Roche will take over further development and commercialization outside mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, where Hansoh retains rights. The agreement builds on the companies’ earlier ADC partnership and includes an option for Hansoh to help fund global development of two programs in exchange for additional commercial upside.
