Rome Court Gives American Life for Double Murder
An Italian court sentenced American Francis Kaufmann, also known as Rexal Ford, to life in prison for murdering his Russian partner, Anastasia Trofimova, and their 11-month-old daughter, Andromeda, whose bodies were found in a Rome park in June 2025. Prosecutors pointed to surveillance footage showing Kaufmann carrying the child toward the park and returning without her, while the defense argued the case relied on circumstantial evidence; the court also ordered three years of solitary confinement. Kaufmann denied responsibility, and his lawyer said the verdict is expected to be appealed. The case drew attention to Kaufmann’s multiple identities and his claims of working as a film producer.
