Ryu Leads LPGA South Korea, Choi Tied Second
Haeran Ryu held a four-stroke lead after three rounds of the LPGA South Korea tournament, following a second-round 64 and a third-round 68 that put her at 17 under. Hye-Jin Choi surged with an eagle and seven birdies across her first 11 holes Saturday, but bogeys and a double bogey on the back nine left her tied for second with Minji Park and Yuri Yoshida. Heavy rain slowed play, with final groups taking about six hours to finish. Choi is still seeking her first LPGA Tour victory, having previously struggled to convert strong positions into wins. The tour’s Asian swing continues next week at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur.
