Sabbatini rallies from four back with late eagle to win Stifel Classic
Rory Sabbatini rallied from four shots behind with a closing eagle and three consecutive birdies to shoot a 9-under 62 and win the Stifel Charity Classic in St. Louis, his first PGA Tour Champions title. His 25-foot eagle putt at the par-5 15th launched the late charge, and a long birdie putt on the 18th secured a one-shot victory over Darren Clarke. Sabbatini moved to No. 7 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, while Henrik Stenson and Tim Petrovic also advanced to the next playoff event among the top 54; J.J. Henry and Chad Campbell missed the cutoff.
