Salesforce agrees to acquire Rune in largest national security deal yet
Salesforce has agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, a military logistics software provider, to add tools for frontline supply planning and sustainment to its Missionforce defense platform. Rune’s software combines enterprise records with operational data to forecast supply needs, recommend resource allocation and transport routes, and support planning when connectivity is unreliable or unavailable. The technology is already used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, and Salesforce says the deal would be its most significant national security-focused acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed; the companies expect the transaction to close in Salesforce’s fiscal 2027 fourth quarter, subject to customary conditions. Salesforce says its defense business is growing 80% year over year and serves all six U.S. military branches.
