Salvation Army Branches Seek Bell Ringers for Red Kettle Campaigns
Salvation Army branches in Lafayette, Duluth and Marion are recruiting volunteers for their holiday Red Kettle campaigns, their major annual fundraisers. Lafayette needs bell ringers for about 12 locations beginning Nov. 14 and is aiming to raise $110,000; volunteers who give four hours can enter a drawing for a jewelry prize. Duluth’s campaign runs Nov. 13 through Dec. 24, with sign-ups available on a new volunteer platform, while Marion is offering two-hour shifts Wednesday through Sunday from Nov. 14 to Christmas Eve. The organizations say donations stay local and support services such as food assistance, housing help and other community programs.
