Samsung establishes RX Office to advance robotics

Samsung Electronics is launching an RX (Robotics eXperience) Business Promotion Office directly under the CEO to consolidate dispersed robotics capabilities and establish robotics as a core growth pillar, with Roh Tae-moon leading the effort and Lee Dong-geon heading the Robotics Strategy Team. The initiative will centralize robotics work at the Seoul R&D Campus, build a data-driven foundation with a new data factory at the Gumi plant, and accelerate development through closer collaboration with internal research groups. Samsung also plans to establish global research hubs in the United States, China, and Japan to tap into international talent and ecosystems while advancing AI-driven navigation, manipulation, and control technologies. The company has signaled a broader strategy to integrate AI, sensors, and chip expertise into unified robotic platforms for home, industrial, and enterprise use, aiming to deploy scalable, customer-ready solutions. Experts highlight ongoing progress, including new research bases and advancements in robot manipulation and mobile manipulation systems, as part of Samsung’s push to lead in intelligent robotics.
