Sarasota Man Indicted Over Alleged Threats Against Jews

A federal grand jury indicted 45-year-old Sarasota resident Duncan Fraser MacDonald on a charge of transmitting threats to injure another person. Prosecutors allege he posted Instagram videos on Sept. 16 and 17 threatening to “hunt” Jewish people and “take them out because the Austrian painter was correct,” while displaying firearms. MacDonald was arrested in Arizona on Sept. 18 and appeared in federal court in Jacksonville on Oct. 16. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted; the indictment is an accusation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
