Schuylkill Roof Aid Targets 10 Homes Regionwide

Schuylkill Community Action is launching Raise the Roof – Northern Schuylkill County to help income-eligible homeowners repair or replace failing roofs in 14 communities. Funded by Pennsylvania’s Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Fund, the program expects to assist about eight to 10 households, with applications or expressions of interest accepted Nov. 2–30. Applicants will be prioritized by the severity of their roof problems rather than on a first-come, first-served basis, and may need to provide income verification and documentation of roof conditions. The work is intended to preserve aging homes and improve safety; projects will also include smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers.
