Roman Space Telescope Launches on Falcon Heavy

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy and is en route to a one-million-mile L2 orbit for a five-year mission to map billions of galaxies, study dark matter and dark energy, and hunt for exoplanets with a field of view more than 100 times wider than Hubble’s. The observatory will operate as a survey instrument, delivering vast data daily and complementing Webb and other observatories with rapid, wide-area sky coverage. Officials describe Roman as a major leap in expanding our cosmic atlas, enabling both broad discovery and targeted planetary studies.
