Scottsdale Airport Chase Ends With Car Hitting Plane
Two people were arrested after a vehicle linked by Phoenix police to an illegal street-racing group fled a traffic stop and entered Scottsdale Airport. Police tracked the vehicle by helicopter and GPS; authorities say the driver backed into a police vehicle, broke through a locked security gate and struck an unoccupied aircraft near a hangar. The two occupants ran from the vehicle and were apprehended, with one allegedly resisting arrest and being subdued with a stun gun. The suspects face felony charges, and the FBI is investigating the airport trespass; officials warned that entering an active airfield could have had catastrophic consequences.
