Seahawks Acquire Nelson, Reshuffle Offensive Line

Seattle acquired eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson from Indianapolis for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-rounder, and plans to put him at left guard against Chicago on Monday night. Grey Zabel will shift to right guard, with Anthony Bradford moving out of the starting lineup; coach Mike Macdonald said the change reflects a chance to improve rather than a criticism of the existing linemen. The reshuffled line faces an early test against a Bears defense known for frequent blitzing, especially with left tackle Charles Cross out and backup Josh Jones expected beside Nelson. Nelson’s pass protection and run-blocking could help Sam Darnold, but the new unit will need to quickly establish communication and cohesion.
