Searchlight Announces The Family Stone Sequel With Returning Cast

Searchlight Pictures has announced The Families Stone, a sequel to the 2005 holiday film The Family Stone, with original writer-director Tom Bezucha returning. The story is set 20 years after the death of the Stone family matriarch and follows the family’s Christmas reunion after patriarch Kelly Stone unexpectedly introduces the woman he loves. Returning cast members include Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, Dermot Mulroney, Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Tyrone Giordano, Elizabeth Reaser, Paul Schneider and Brian White. Diane Keaton, who played the matriarch Sybil Stone, will not return after her death in October 2025. Michael London, Shannon Gaulding, Parker and Alison Benson are producing, with production planned for New York.
