Missouri guard CJ Gunn has been ruled ineligible by the Southeastern Conference for the 2026-27 season, one day before the Tigers’ opener against Cleveland State. The ruling stems from his playing three games for a Canadian professional team in May and receiving payment, even though he reportedly repaid the money. Gunn had been temporarily eligible for a fifth college season under a court order, but the SEC’s decision ends that eligibility; Missouri and Gunn do not plan to appeal. Missouri also said an earlier report that Gunn signed with the Golden State Warriors was incorrect.
