Senate candidate Roy Cooper campaigns statewide
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Roy Cooper is making a closing pitch to North Carolina voters with an affordability-focused platform as early voting continues. At a Greensboro event, he highlighted plans to lower costs for groceries, energy and housing, expand access to health care and child care, and criticized Republican opponent Michael Whatley’s policies as increasing costs. Cooper also urged voters to turn out at a Carrboro get-out-the-vote concert, where he outlined proposals including supporting farmers, capping annual prescription-drug out-of-pocket costs and modernizing the energy grid. North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein praised Cooper’s record, while state Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls encouraged attendees to mobilize friends and family to vote.
