Senior events span celebrations, fundraisers, care awards

Senior-serving organizations are bringing older adults together through celebrations and fundraisers. Hillsborough County Aging Services’ prom drew about 450 attendees and crowned Rosie Cobb and Willie Williams, while also recognizing volunteers. In Safford, a hot-dog and nacho sale raises donations for utility-bill assistance for eligible residents age 62 and older; Hillsdale’s Perennial Park Senior Center is planning a dueling-pianos Halloween fundraiser to support center needs. East Topeka Senior Center is also raising funds with its King & Queen Ball, an evening event celebrating its members.
