Seven Wedding Expenses May Qualify for Tax Deductions
Most wedding costs, including ceremony fees and venue rentals, are not tax-deductible because they pay for services. An extra church donation made without receiving a benefit may qualify, as may a clearly itemized amount paid above a nonprofit venue’s fair rental value. Couples may also be able to deduct the fair market value of wedding flowers donated to a qualifying nonprofit after the event, rather than the full amount paid to the florist.
