Shane Lowry Wins Irish Open by 11 Shots
Shane Lowry won the 2026 Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links Ireland, finishing at 23 under par and a record 11 shots ahead of Patrick Reed. The victory ended a 17-year wait since Lowry’s 2009 Irish Open triumph as an amateur and was sealed with a long birdie on the 18th hole during a spectacular final round. Lowry had established control of the tournament with a course-record 62 in the second round and followed it with a five-under 65 on Saturday to build a four-shot lead. Jacob Skov Olesen was his closest challenger entering the final round, while defending champion Rory McIlroy struggled with his putting and finished well off the pace. President Donald Trump’s arrival at his nearby property briefly drew attention during Saturday’s play, but Lowry remained focused and delivered a dominant performance.
