Sharks Hold Meeting After 7-2 Kings Rout
The San Jose Sharks held a players-only meeting after a 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings left them at 7-9-1 and sixth in the Pacific Division. Adrian Kempe scored three goals and Artemi Panarin assisted on four, while San Jose’s Macklin Celebrini and Ivar Stenberg scored power-play goals. Sharks players described the team as frustrated and out of sync, saying they need to improve their work ethic, communication and ability to win battles; they declined to share details of the private meeting. Coach Ryan Warsofsky backed the players’ effort to address the slump, and San Jose next faces Minnesota on Friday.
